NETS

While examining my lesson plan on TaskStream, I tried to incorporate some of the NETS, and I found that many of them were exercised. When the lesson is introduced, the children will be asked about their previous knowledge and use it to predict what will happen in the story I will be reading.(1a, 1d). Then, they will be asked to create their own butterfly on the computer using Paint (1b). I found that these were the main NETS being used. I feel that because of the grade level (Kinder) it might be too much to ask for them to look up pictures or research any further on their own.

Higher Order Thinking

In order to incorporate higher level thinking into lesson plans, I will be more thorough when planning them. I will be sure to ask in depth questions, rather than ones that only require a simple "yes" or "no" response. I will encourage creativity in the classroom and be sure to keep an open mind at all times. Although you are the teacher, you have a lot to learn from your students. Sometimes they are afraid to use their imagination, so I will try my best to help them strive to be unique and think outside the box.

Making the Most of Technology

"How do you intend to create a classroom that makes the most of your technology?"
I plan on using different activites for teaching in my classroom. I will incorporate powerpoint, videos, even online learning such as the software I searched for today. I found a pretty cool website, its http://funschool.kaboose.com. It has all different kinds of games within the science, math, etc. departments. It also has worksheets you can print out and puzzles you can solve. It's pretty fun!!
